The fifth day, I start to write it. Hope it is not too late.
At first, I have to admit that, I am a little shy. I have no experience in making friends with foreigners. I can not remember their names. The register staff Ollie impresses me a lot. As a result, I talk to him a lot to know this school gradually.
The first day is a free day. At about 1.AM, we arrived. We are the first three people to live in Elywn’s home. The first day was a free day. We most of the time played football with each other. At that time, I came to recognize how excellent students’ skills were.
The first day might be the most free day. And in the second day, I started to meet my teachers and friends and took some classes. Among them, I like academic class most which is the international relations. For the reason why, I would like to tell later.
Maybe the third day was the officially first day to follow the schedule. Then, I met more friends. I found out that most guys are very friendly. At night, we watched the World Cup together and then France won, as I expected.
Last day, we went on Cambridge and visited some places of interest. At night, we watched the World Cup again and finally, it was a pity that England lost and eventually Croatia won!
Today, as normal, we took classes. Interestingly, we had evening activities. They needed us to use our physical body, mind and tactics.
Hope to update.
One trip to the Felsted School truly brings me a lot and lets me know more about myself, which is so-called “improving yourself process”.
First of all, I have to admit that my speaking and listening may be improved more or less though they need one TOEFL test to prove themselves. At first, maybe I paid less attention to my speaking so that whenever I spoke, there would always be one special tone called Chinglish. Luckily enough, I gradually realized my situation and then tried to change it little by little. My listening skill is developed as the time passed. Unfortunately, there were still numerous words which are closely related to the common life that I do not learn about, or even understand.
The education here fits me so well. Two English classes in the morning are used to learn and discuss within one given topic like the World Cup, different accents in British and so on. Another one is the English topic class which is actually one music class. With all due respect, usually, the atmosphere in each class is very relaxing. Teachers will give everyone a chance to speak, to express their own opinions and then make a judgement. Education in British pays more attention to Students’ interest and their characteristics which is the most important thing different from that in China. We can choose academic classes and clubs, whatever we like.
Traditionally, we always regard Chinese tourists as low-quality group. They will speak loudly in public. They will jump a queue randomly once they get the chance. However, we are wrong. We are completely wrong. We have been misled by this wrong concept for years. There is always disorder in the cafeteria and ironically, most foreigners choose to do that except us Chinese people. We are confused. We are also angry, but, useless. When we want to complain about that, Sorry, useless. I do not want to say too much or criticize them but to reveal the ridiculous phenomenon.
Another “ridiculous” phenomenon is that almost all the foreigners use iphone instead of HuaWei, Vivo, or Oppo. It is said that, Chinese mobile phones are spreading all over the world. But the truth tells everything.
Finally, it is a good thing to improve not only my English skills but also my personalities. In the past, I changed myself for many unknown reasons, which are connected to the true surrounding world. I became more silent. A silent man can not speak too much and should always be silent. I tried to jump out of the special circle. As a member of MUN, I am obligated to do many things to change and improve the world.
Facing the insulting, I was silent. Facing the disorder problem, I was silent again. But now, the only person who knows me how to change is still myself.
Maybe, the words above are meaningless. But for me, I am the only one who knows all.
