After nearly a month’s preparations and excitement, 8th July, we started at Pudong Airport ,took a plane and arrived at London, despite the delay. But, it cannot reduce our enthusiasm for the hope of the radical new school life in Britain.

In spite of the midnight, Felsted staff and the driver still offered us a warm welcome. We brought the tiredness to the school and found our own room after the staff’s guide.

Here is the history of the school; the Felsted was foundedfrom a foundation since 450 years ago.  

Every day we got up at 7AM and had three lessons in the morning. Instead of the nap after lunch, we continued to have our own academic lessons and our clubs. In the evening, activities were indispensable and usually finished at 10PM.Before we took our classes, we needed to take a test and they divided us into different parts to different classes, based on the grade we got in the test. First two lessons were presented by our headteacher, and the rest was taught by our second teacher.In the afternoon we had more freedom to choose what we want to learn (mostly sports) .They offered us a great number of sports Football, tennis are two most popular sports. Science, Cook, Math, Global study are other academic classes. Clubs also gave us a chance to cultivate our interest in sports.Evening activities were also to develop our own ability not only in sports but also in intelligence,which enables us to fully experience the new lifestyle the English have.The most exciting thing , I remember , is the games we played that night.It included many different parts such as running jumping and some intelligent questions about many aspects like sports,food,some famous people.All these parts needed us to make joint efforts and help each other to pass every part.Also the disco was considered as the most popular and an indispensable activity every week.Other interesting activities like the one where we were the detectives and needed to find the final murderer through talking with the suspect ,finishing the tasks ,informing the police.Another is the task that we had to find the letters spread in the whole school.As the school is so big , I can not bear running from one side of the school to the other.Next,I will take my own club as an example.The first week I chose the indoor football. I must say that European children’s football skills are more fruitful than Asian students especially Chinese.I had to be the goal keeper in case of the loss.Despite the fact that I am so little in my team, Ihad to strive to keep the ball from entering the goal. The second week I chose the basketball.As the popularity in china, I am not afraid of other players and became the main strength of my team, but I eventually found that Chinese players did not understand how to pass the ball to their teammates.They may be good at making a goal by themselves.While foreigners, they can cooperated with each other and pass the ball to their teammates. This is what Chinese people lack and need to be improved.

Then I will talk about my lessons in the morning. My English teacher is Anna, a pretty woman with blue eyes. Every class we had a topic and a host of tasks we needed to finish in the class, sometimes they were about motivation.She gave us three different kinds of motivation. Then she gave us three paper with the information and some examples about the motivation and then we would tell this information to our partners and other people would tell the same thing to help us understand different types of motivation. In her classes we mostlypracticed spoken English. In my class we hadChinese students and Italian people but they always showed their confidence and said whatever they wanted to say. Compared to Chinese students, what we need to improve is in it.though we have learnt English longer than any students in my class, still we would listen to some dialogues and write the phrases in the blank to finish the sentence or the articles. In conclusion the classes gave us a good chance to show ourselves popular. Other types of the lessons are very interesting.so we were very active in the lessons. For instance we were required to prepare an article to present our imagined word in different aspects like education environment traffic and religion. Every people could have their own opinions and thoughts. We can also do a survey on whatever we are interested in. As a Chinese student I am very concerned with a variety of education systemsaccording to the nationalities. My questions include which subject you think is the most important and how long do you usually do your homework and so on. We had to finish the survey in the prep time. Also we would be given another 1 hour to prepare the presentations to the whole class. This is what students miss in their own education system. We often lack in the ability to solve the problem the real society because we get used to the environment where we make out the math problem inside the classroom.

Information concerning the exciting aspects of Felsted will be introduced by meThey  hope  that we will find out all we need to know about this exciting opportunity to be a part of our 452 year-old tradition. As we saw, we were so inspired by what our staffs and teachers, housemasters were able to achieve that we have included two new major additions their various academic classes and lessons will allow students to speak English as a first language to fully immerse themselves in the Summer School ethos.

Next, I will discuss the differences between English education system and Chinese. First it is free for us to choose what we want to learn ,if you want to play football you can enjoy yourself; if you want to learn cook, it is always open for you ; also it is allowed to have a girlfriend or a boyfriend. That is why the international survey indicates that European people are happier than Chinese couples after getting married. Another it is free to have the food or drink even the sofa in your house,and the house master is very kind they never shout to you. Second I will discuss their cultures and daily habits.The Englishmen love to behave gentlemanly and the Englishwomen love to behave ladily. They also show their respect for ladies. They always say" Lady first". In their daily life, the English pay attention to their appearance. They dress neatly. They shake hands when they meet other. When they are with others, they usually say "please""thank you""sorry" and so on. The breakfast in Britain is very rich. Usually there are all kinds of egg products, oatmeal, bacon, ham, sausages, butter, jam, bread, milk, juice, coffee and so on. They are popular with the western countries. What is more, the English like drinking tea. They have the habit of drinking afternoon tea at about 3 in the afternoon. They enjoy drinking tea and treat it as a kind of seeing friends.Being punctual not only refers to being on time for work or for meetings or appointments in English people’s eyes, but also being ready and prepared on arrival. It involves a degree of commitment to the job role, organisation and time management, travel planning, and an awareness or understanding of the importance of being on time and behaving responsibly or professionally.Third I will discuss my feelings. this stay in Felsted school , I gradually know that we should give everything a shot. I found foreigners often boost confidence despite the failure, they can finish and solve the problems bit by bit. As we all know, Failure is the mother of success. But I just want to say Success is the baby of confidence.
