Landing safely at Heathrow International Airport, the plane slowly arrived at the parking apron. Though some clouds remained in the sky which seems to be a little bluer than that in China, the weather was rather good. Nothing could stop the happiness stored in my mind.
Let's cut the cackle! Let me uncover the 10-day wonderful trip for you.

I will divide the content that impress me a lot into several parts.

THE UPBRINGING OF ENGLISH

Maybe this situation will barely happen in China: Before we were departing from the airport to the hostel in which we lived in Leominister, we tried to cross the road. And when we were about to do so, the running buses and cars just make way for us. What remained in my mind are just their gentle facial expressions. Imagine your satisfaction when you are experiencing this. Definitely you will show great respect for their manners.

THE FRIENDSHIP BETWEEN HUMAN AND ANIMAL

‘All the swans belong to the queen.’ That is what English always say. I do not know why they say so. Even they can not give me a specific reason. But that does not matters. The animals there are all very friendly to people around. That is really amazing. Once I even saw peacocks walking around peacefully no matter how many people passed him showing surprised expressions. What is more beautiful swans can be seen everywhere. They gently swims on the river smoothing feathers with the beak or bill.

To our surprise, on the last day we even saw wild squirrels. When I placed my hand on the ground, the little cute boy quickly came to me wondering whether there was any food on my hand. Sadly, he sniffs for a while and left disappointedly back to his tree. Oh, my bad! I do not mean to hurt you!

THE HELPFUL ENGLISH

When we were there, there used to be a lot of time allocated for we students. So we always had to separate from each other to visit in several groups. Once in the Oxford, we meant to go to have a visit to the nearest museum. But the specter controlling the weather seemed not so geilivable and constantly rain and rain without any sign to stop. So we can only walk in the rain looking at the map puzzledly. Gosh!

So what we could do is asking the way to the museum. Suddenly we came across a man with a raincoat. ‘Ah, here comes the savior!’ meditating in my mind. Actually I think I am right when I recall it now. He immediately explained which route we ought to take specifically. And he tried to make it clear and easy to understand. But after he has seen the confused look, he instantly determined to take us there against the wind and rain. And right after we arrived there, he disappeared even before we could say thank you to him. (What a pity!) But this really impresses me with the helpfulness of people there. They are really warm-hearted. I still feel that way.

LIVING CONDITIONS & THEIR ACTIVITIES

That is what I have experienced during the family day. You know what?

There are incredibly large forests and vertical rocks. And on family day, Toby and his family took me to the great forest to do aerobics and experience the beautiful scenery hidden in the nature. By the way, Toby is my partner who is of course my good friend. It is really hard to imagine to have this activity in Yangzhou where the forests is hard find. In addition, they also go climbing------not the traditional climbing like walking step by step to the top of the mountain but using facilities and your own strength to reach the top. Of course, you  ought to plan everything and discover a road by yourself.

It seems that there is still a large gap between the 2 countries.

But the experience encourages me to live actively with diverse activities.

ACOMMODATION

I believe a lot of students have ever known about hostel but never known what it is actually like. During the trip, we have 9-day hostel accommodation which impresses me a lot. We five live in a very small room with only 5 beds( double decker) and a mirror. It is kind of(NO! It is EXREMELY SMALL!) small. But it also brought us a lot of fun for we have more classmates to talk with and more funny stories. And we help each other no matter what happens.

A big difference from hotel is that it does not provide meals. To our surprise, we all have to make them ourselves. The teachers only provide us with raw materials and whether we can full our belly only depends on ourselves. It is a challenge at the beginning. But soon we get used to that.

Though the room is limited. But the happiness seems much more than that if we had lived in the hotel.

By the way, it is a really a pity to lose the chance to have a home stay.

SCHOOLS & CLASSES

The school is really like what have been represented in our English book. After attending several classes, I thought that the classes have a very good atmosphere which is quite free. You can do anything except bothering others. You can raise your hands whenever you have a question and it seems whispering is allowed in classes. Aside from this,  once the teacher raise a question you may tell the answer loudly. BUT you must obey the rules or you will be punished severely. That is real!

About their school yards, they have a large area of sports land and grassland. However, they do not have tall buildings as we have in Yangzhou High School. The buildings there are always are very low with 2 floors or less. They do have more green trees and grass which always make people feel active. I really look forward to staying there and have a more specific knowledge of English schools.

I really love them!

MY THOUGHTS

The trip is very wonderful with a lot of fun to enjoy.

Firstly , through the exchange program I meet a new English friend which can be quite useful in the future. It is great to have a foreign friendWhat is more, you will research the famous monuments and common leisure activities in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and know more about a country which you do not know very well in the past.

Having a English partner is really exciting. You will never know it unless you have one. You can communicate with him often in English and learn about the different life in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. And you can improve you ability of speaking oral English. When you are playing games, having fun, asking questions and talking happily, you unconsciously learn a lot of vocabulary and improve the fluency of spoken English.

It is also great help to boost you talking strategy, isn’t it?

Secondly, the tour let me know about a developed country and to some extent change my idea in some area. I believe it will affect me a lot.

For instance, I can have a general idea of the English society which can not be found in the package tour. There, you can comprehend what the life in Britain is really like. How they live, what their entertainment is……whatever you want to know is always there waiting for you. There is no doubt that you are almost a genuine British.

Thirdly, I surprisingly find that when I am back in China. I am no more a English stammer (Before the trip, I always felt relatively nervous whenever I talked in English). I can speak English at ease. That can be a significant milestone on my road to be a perfect English leaner. That is absolutely good for you.

Fourthly, I felt the happiness among the 29-student group. That is really nice to have so many talented friends. That can be described using one word ’awesome!’. This is not an exaggeration!

We shared our food , helped others to make fried eggs before the breakfast and so on. They all seems to be nothing until you really experience it. You can not deny that you are touched deeply especially in a place which is thousands of miles away from China. That is a really a unprecedented chance to show you the collective strength.

In general, the trip brings us a lot which will always remain at the bottom of my heart. I believe everyone feels that way. I hope I could experience it once more. I will make it the brightest star twinkling in my enormous sky of wonderful memories. SEE YOU, ENGLAND.
